What to expect when you arrive for your appointment . . .
I have adequate parking for two vehicles to park side-by-side in the carport. If there isn’t a vehicle there, please pull all the way into the carport to one side.
Once you arrive, please come to the front door. If I am currently with someone, feel free to sit in the swing or in your car until they have left. If this is your first visit, you can download the Intake Form under the FORMS menu. Fill it out and bring it with you when you come 15 minutes early!
Once I’m ready for you, I’ll have you step into the bodywork room. I’m interested in any surgeries you may have had, any trauma in your history, and also any medications you may be on at this time.
We want to focus on your needs. Where is your chronic discomfort? Have you been to a chiropractor? What are you hobbies – as in running, water ski, hiker, etc. All those questions will determine how we address your concerns.
Once we have satisfied our plan of action, I’ll step out and let you undress to your comfort level, and go ahead and get comfortable under the linens. The table has a warmer, so you may fall asleep!
I am heavy-handed, but I don’t initially work deep tissue on your first visit. As we progress, you may be able to experience a deep tissue massage without much tenderness. Each body is different, so you may experience the deep tissue in a very different manner than others would. However, as we see fit, you may experience some other modalities as in neuromuscular, myofascial, cranial-sacral, Swedish, etc. I use a variety of techniques to acquire your desired outcome.
Please drink plenty of water after you’ve left your massage. Your muscles can become dehydrated from the massage, so you need to re-hydrate! You may also experience some slight tenderness the next two days or so. That’s completely normal! But you should feel some loosening and better range of motion as well!
I look forward to helping you on your journey to living without pain!
